Real camels are returning to Hull for a nativity spectacular fit for the city of culture year!  

The Live Nativity is a colourful retelling of the Christmas story and is set to return on Saturday, December 16th with a stellar local cast and complete with real camels, sheep, and a donkey.

Popular Look North presenter Peter Levy will play Angel Gabriel, Rosie Millard, chair of Hull City of Culture 2017, Hull City Council culture supremo Jon Pywell and Inspector Kirsty Tock, of Humberside Police, will take on the role of the Magi and the Bishop of Hull will put her crook to good use as a shepherd.

Hull Minster has received a £20,000 National Churches Trust Grant to help fund a project to pay for urgent repairs to clerestory windows including to stonework and associated glazing.

The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and Hull UK City of Culture 2017 have jointly commissioned Chile-based architects Pezo von Ellrichshausen and Swiss artist Felice Varini to design an ambitious temporary outdoor structure in response to the historic heart of Hull. 

Hull’s historic Trinity House charity is supporting Hull Minster’s exciting future, building on links going back almost 700 years.

The seafaring charity has sponsored more than two dozen chairs to support Hull Minster’s development project which is transforming the church into an open and flexible space for worship and a wide range of cultural, social and community events.

Extensive work to transform Trinity Square in Hull’s Old Town has come to an end, with the switching on of new water features reflecting the majesty of Hull Minster.

It’s never been done in more than 700 years and now you can experience a unique way to visit newly-dedicated Hull Minster.

The Archbishop of York has bestowed Minster status on England’s largest parish church in an open-air service that drew thousands into the heart of Hull.

Members of the public are invited to join the Minster-making celebrations in Trinity Square from midday on May 13.
