Our volunteering community makes Hull Minster the welcoming, caring place it is. Without their support and commitment, not only are we unable to open our doors, but it would be impossible for us to carry out the Minster’s mission.
We welcome volunteers of all ages and backgrounds from those able to give 1 hour a week to 3 days a week.
There are a variety of roles throughout the Minster which gives individuals the opportunity to find the right one for them. They include:
Welcoming visitors into the Minster
Working on the café
Running the shop
Assisting the Facilities Manager with his duties
Being part of the photography and media team
Production Team for events
Preparing and cooking the HM lunch once a month
Supporting delivery of education programmes
Helping visitors on guided tours and tower tours
Assisting with administrative duties of the Minster
We are always looking for new skills and are grateful for whatever you can offer. We encourage you to get in touch so we can get to know you better and find out how you can contribute.
Benefits of Volunteering
We are committed to ensuring our volunteers are well trained and gain skills and experience. This is achieved by providing support in the following ways;
Training courses
Workshops
Pastoral support and guidance with staff members
Meetings with more experienced volunteers or friends groups
Informally trying out new roles within our organisation
For those looking to get into work, we are happy to provide references for our volunteers.
Getting Involved
By listening to our volunteers we know that during their time with us they make friends, become more active and confident, and develop a range of new skills.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteering we would love to hear from you. Just contact us below by filling out the form and we will get in touch with you.
