Hull Minster is an amazing place to be enjoyed by the whole community. For over 700 years we have stood in the heart of Hull’s Old Town as its civic church which welcomes all through our doors.
Our magnificent medieval building has many interesting spaces which are used for a wide variety of activities and events from artistic and cultural performances, recitals and exhibitions, receptions and celebrations, banquets and festivals. We have hosted a wide range of events such as fashion shows, rock and pop concerts, classical and choral recitals and concerts, networking events and training courses, history talks, graduation ceremonies and youth parties.
The recent development to the Minster now offer the following facilities:
Underfloor heating throughout the Nave.
Cat5e & 6 data points and power distribution throughout the building and to each pillar (power specification available on request)
Comprehensive D&B audio system with distribution to zones throughout the building and Yamaha digital mixing desk.
Dante system allowing for flexible placement of audio input/outputs.
4x2m Full-HD projector system with visual distribution system allowing for repeater screens throughout the building.
Wireless-controlled and dimmable lighting system allowing for a theatrical element to be incorporated in to your event, or to support a wider, temporary lighting installation.
Technicians equipped to help your event run smoothly and operate the equipment.
Nave
Capacity: 300 seated/500 standing
A large and open space with the flexibility to accommodate almost any type of event; performance based, spoken word, markets, festivals, banquets, conferences. CAT 5e and CAT6 data points, for audio, video and data distribution, power supply on every pillar to enable events to be set up in any configuration in the space. The new lighting system allows for ambient lighting to be tailored to very specific needs. The new sound system is inclusive of radio mics and mixing desk and audio visual equipment will be accessible.
Hire includes the use of our modular staging and seating, set out to whatever layout you require. Green rooms and changing spaces included, where necessary. A bar can be set up for your event and the venue is licensed until 11pm (extensions possible).
Outside catering permitted and kitchen available on site.
The Nave is fully step-free and wheelchair accessible. Accessible toilet on-site.
Full day/evening hire from £1400 + VAT. Charity/Community discounts available and profit share considered for ticketed events.
Chancel
Capacity: 80 seated
With a mixture of stunning Victorian pews and chairs, overlooked by our beautiful East window, the chancel is ideal for intimate musical and theatrical performances and talks. The sanctuary provides a natural stage setting. The Chancel can be used independently of the Nave or as an extension area to the an event in the Nave.
Hourly hire available from £70+ VAT.
Minster Cafe
Capacity: 40 seated/50 standing
Our modern, award winning cafe is available for private hire, day or night. The cafe boasts an impressive AV system, including 2 microphones, built in speakers and television screens and can be laid out to your requirements. The cafe can be closed off to the Minster, giving you full and exclusive access to the facilities for your event, be it a party, networking event or business dinner
We offer a range of food and refreshment options from our everyday cafe menu all the way up to 3 course fine dining, and external caterers are welcome. We have a full kitchen on site and are licensed until 11pm (extensions possible).
Hire starting from £40 +VAT per hour OR minimum catering/bar spend of £450.
Choir Vestry
Capacity: 30 seated
A purpose built Victorian rehearsal room.
Ideal for educational and choral workshops (practicing and changing,) and as a meeting room.
Carmelite House - Small & Large Meeting room hire.
