Holy Trinity will be bringing the real meaning of Christmas alive in spectacular fashion.

This year’s All New Live Nativity will feature spontaneous pop-up performances in the St Stephen’s and Princes Quay Shopping Centres.  Look out for the dancers and singers of the Northern Academy of Performing Arts who will tell the story of the Live Nativity in three flashmob shows.

 Meanwhile Mary, Joseph and two donkeys will make appearances ay St Stephen’s Shopping Centre, Whitefriargate, Holy Trinity church where they will be greeted by a choir. 

 Flashmobs begin at 1.40pm

Choir in Trinity Square begins at 2.00pm

Trinity Market – from 10.00am to 3.00pm

Family candlelit service at 3.30pm

The Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu, has encouraged people to "dig deep" in a lively video message in support of Holy Trinity's development plans.

In an appeal direct to the people of Hull and East Riding, he says the project to transform the 700-year-old church was vital if it was to serve the city in the years ahead.

Dr Sentamu has vowed to rededicate Holy Trinity as a Minster once the work is completed. 

He says: "Every little helps - but for me I'm looking for big bucks!"

BACON butties will be served before Holy Trinity’s special joint service this Advent Sunday morning.

It is an opportunity for the 9.30am and 11.15am congregations to come together and invite friends and family to church for the first time.

Breakfast will be served from 9.30am and the service will start at 10.30am.

Holy Trinity has two exciting new job opportunities to help us in our growing mission in Hull city centre.

We are seeking two people to provide part-time administrative support to our clergy teams, general staff and PCC.

In the last few years, we have seen a major growth in our profile in the city so many more people are joining the church. It is an exciting and vibrant place in which to minister. Yet it is also demanding. We attract a very wide and diverse spectrum of people, both as worshippers and visitors.

The Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu, and the Chair of Hull UK City of Culture 2017, Rosie Millard, joined scores of civic, community and business leaders at the launch our £4.5m development project, which will see the church transformed internally and the creation of a stunning piazza-style public space in Trinity Square.

Holy Trinity Church, Hull’s most amazing place, today (November 7) revealed ambitious plans to transform into a leading heritage, cultural and tourism venue by the 2017 UK City of Culture year.

 The Vicar of Holy Trinity, the Rev Canon Dr Neal Barnes, the Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu, and the Chair of Hull UK City of Culture 2017, Rosie Millard, came together to announce a £4.5m development project for England’s largest parish church.

Hull’s cultural and political leaders have thrown their support behind Holy Trinity’s ambitious £4.5 million development plans.

Chair of Hull UK City of Culture 2017, Rosie Millard, said: “Holy Trinity Church is one of the most beautiful and awe-inspiring buildings in the country, let alone in East Yorkshire.

“Through this transformation, Holy Trinity can become, once again, a focal point and a beacon in the historic heart of Hull. I’m delighted to see the church looking to the future in ways that will introduce it to a wide, new audience.”

A poignant new play about how the First World War impacted the lives of Hull women is coming to Holy Trinity next month.

Based on factual events, this new drama which includes music and poetry, looks at the war on the Home Front through the eyes of five fictional characters, who work at Madame Clapham’s in Kingston Square (now The Kingston Theatre Hotel). It will be performed in the amazing surroundings of Holy Trinity by local dramatic group, Theatre On The Edge

Holy Trinity is delighted to announce that it has joined Hull’s rapidly-growing business network, The Bondholders.

Almost 250 businesses and organisations are now part of the scheme, working together to raise the profile of Hull and the Humber.

Holy Trinity is supporting an appeal to help bring relief to thousands of people caught up in the Ebola crisis in our twin city of Freetown, in Sierra Leone.

Hull’s Ebola Crisis Appeal is raising money to provide buckets with taps, chlorine tablets, soap and bleach which will be distributed around the city to help in the fight against the deadly disease.
