BACON butties will be served before Holy Trinity’s special joint service this Advent Sunday morning.
It is an opportunity for the 9.30am and 11.15am congregations to come together and invite friends and family to church for the first time.
Breakfast will be served from 9.30am and the service will start at 10.30am.
Renowned speaker Revd Roger Simpson, who is the Archbishop of York’s Canon Evangelist, will be preaching at the service.
Before his recent appointment, Roger was vicar of one of the north’s biggest churches, St Michael-le-Belfrey in York.
To mark the beginning of the season of Advent, at 6.30pm, there will be a special Advent procession in Holy Trinity led by the choir. The church will begin in darkness and slowly become bathed in marvellous light as the procession moves around the building.
Dan Broom, Holy Trinity’s youth and student worker, will preach at the 4pm service, which is being held as normal in the parish centre, Trinity Square.
