4. Shape of Water

Image from Shape of Water photographic series

There are 4 photographic images from Shape of Water in the Minster, part of a larger series which explores aspects of the house, the storm, water, river and islands and associated liminal areas. These ‘landscapes’ are constructed from seeds of bulrushes and reeds, collected over the last 4 years from the Humber area, and combined with images of stars, plant roots, all projected and then photographed, effectively turning the micro, or usually unnoticed into the macro. They are reflections on storms and flowing water, flood, dwellings transformed, turning normal into the strange. The images reflect changing boundaries and flooding, how changing climate and other geological factors contribute to land flux, affecting the lives of those who live next to the sea and rivers.
