A showcase of choral diversity and excellence celebrating.

Friday 2 November, doors 7pm for 7:30pm

Tickets £12, £5 unwaged, (plus BF) under 18s free

An evening of diverse, dynamic and entertaining choral performances, showcasing highlights of projects delivered as part of Singing City – Hull City Council’s choral development initiative. Including:

  • World premiere of a powerful work for sign and song – ‘Visual Voices’ - a collaboration of Hull Visual Choir and Freedom Chorus – words by Cassandra Parkin, Music by Ben Newton, conducted by Dr Paul Whittaker OBE and Jeff Borradaile, with support of the Visual Voices band led by Ben Newton

  • Hull Freedom Chorus – delight with their dynamic performance ‘What If… Songs of Power and Protest’ which wowed audiences at Hull Freedom Festival – earning them the accolade of ‘the mighty Freedom Chorus’ - conducted by Em Whitfield Brooks

  • Hull Visual Choir – our signing choir for the deaf, present a selection from their popular and moving repertoire – conducted by Dr Paul Whittaker, OBE

  • Hull Rainbow Choir – featuring our specially commissioned anthem ‘You Are Here’ by Michael Betteridge and Gus Gowland – conducted by Jack Bridges

  • Plus special guests Hull Men’s Chorus – showcasing our development work singing for blokes, chaps and other men – conducted by Charles Huckvale and Laurence Rugg
