CAMRA Hull Real Ale & Cider festival

The Hull and East Yorkshire branch of CAMRA have been keeping something rather special to themselves for the last few years, since moving our annual event to Hull’s Hull Minster at the invitation of the church’s vicar the Rev Canon Dr Neal Barnes.

The 39th annual CAMRA Hull Real Ale & Cider festival will take place between 16-18 November 2017 and for the 6th consecutive year at the Hull Minster. So we can provide our customers with opportunities to experience the growing diversity that is the brewing industry we will be sourcing over 130 different cask ales, many from our 14 local breweries, through CAMRA’s ‘LocAle’ scheme. A unique feature of the event is the installation of Hull’s longest hand pump bar, serving real ales from casks stored underneath the bar, with a further extensive range of stronger beers served directly from the casks. An array of real ciders, again many from our local producers and a selection of bottled beers from around the world will also be available. Hot and cold foods; entertainment from local performers and stalls for small regional businesses will be scattered around the church to complete the experience; the first of many in 2017 at this impressive renovated venue.

The venue is a remarkable mediaeval parish church (the largest in terms of floor space in the country) magnificent painted ceilings and numerous memorials to the brave of Hull who gave their lives in war and in peace to the betterment of others.

The event itself it staged thanks to the remarkable collaborative work between volunteers from the local CAMRA branch and church volunteers, we are extremely grateful to all concerned.
