We are very excited to be apart of Hullzapoppin' Swing Dance week-ender as part of City of Culture 2017.
On Saturday 27 May, Hullzapoppin have arranged for a special lunchtime show as a warm up for the main event at the City Hall in the evening. People of all abilities are welcome to come along to this free event get involved with the dancing or just take a seat and enjoy the show. The fabulous local Gypsy Jazz Band, Route de Django, will by providing the swing and there is also a Vintage Market taking place.
From 11am-12pm and 2pm-4pm they are holding dance classes at an international standard that are open to the public to watch.

Strictly unmissable, Hullzapoppin 2017 is a city-wide celebration of World Lindy Hop Day. Harnessing the unique magic and nostalgia of swing dance, international guests from Hull's sister cities of Aarhus, Rotterdam, Reykjavik and Szczecin will perform energetic, jazz-inspired numbers with Harlem roots.
Hosted by local dance troupe Kingston Swing, this weekend-long event features live big-band dance classes for all levels of experience with professional demonstration choreography at our most prestigious venues including City Hall, The Guildhall and
Holy Trinity Church. we will also be running free public 'Have a go' vintage dance classes in our outdoor ballroom on Queen Victoria Square.
