Arco is proud to be sponsoring the Hull Minster Sistine Chapel Exhibition. Support for the arts is an important part of our Community Programme and enabling such an important cultural event in the city will mean that local people will have access to one of this year’s most prestigious art exhibitions in the UK. The free entry and community programme will make it accessible to all and ensure that a wide range of community groups have access to such a unique and exciting experience.
With a heritage in Hull since 1884, Arco is the UK’s leading safety company. With a core purpose of ‘keeping people safe at work’ we distribute workwear, safety equipment and safety services. Arco employs approximately 900 people locally and a total of 1600 nationally.
Arco focuses on delivering positive change our community, building partnerships and supporting charities. Our Community Programme has three objectives:
To help keep communities safe
To inspire local children and young people to achieve their full potential
To enhance local life, making communities better places to live, work and invest
The programme has three focus areas:
1. Charitable Support: Arco donates over 1% of profit to charity each year.
2. Community Volunteering: Colleagues are encouraged to take two additional day’s paid leave, each year, to volunteer locally.
3. Sponsorship and Partnerships: Arco aims to provide support which can be financial, colleague’s skills, safety expertise or product. Examples locally include:

o Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA)
o Humberside Police Lifestyle and Rock Challenge
o Royal Society for Prevention of Accidents
o Ron Dearing College
